Baglioni Resort Maldives has significantly reduced its carbon footprint since 2023 by embracing solar power. The resort’s solar energy system has produced approximately 600,000 KWH of clean energy, equivalent to 45 days of 100% solar-powered operation. This shift to renewable energy has saved 170,000 litres of diesel, preventing 455 tonnes of CO2 emissions. Baglioni Resort’s solar initiative demonstrates the potential of renewable energy in reducing environmental impact.
The resort has organised a range of events to promote environmental awareness and foster community involvement to build stronger connections with the local community and promote the preservation of the environment. In celebration of Earth Hour, the resort organised an educational event for students from Dh. Rinbudhoo focusing on sustainability practices and the importance of solar energy. Additionally, the resort celebrated Eid Al-Fitr on Dh.Rinbudhoo island by donating gift hampers to the community’s children, fostering cultural connections and goodwill. Moreover, Baglioni Resort partnered with Dh.Meedhoo School and Council for tree planting and beach cleaning activities to celebrate World Environment Day.
